“My name is Doris and I am a 71 year old woman with a number of physical problems including spinal stenosis and osteoarthritis.  In late November 2007, I suffered serious pain in the pelvic area and in January was finally diagnosed with a double fracture of the pelvis.  It appear that in dealing with that pain, I ended up affecting my spinal problems again.  By January I could barely walk and needed the use of a wheelchair if going out, advancing to using a cane sometimes.  I was on pain medications which did very little to ease that pain, but did land me in hospital with bowel complications because of the medication.

It was then I saw an article in our Burnaby paper about Laser Therapy and although I was a bit skeptical I decided to make an appointment for an evaluation.  Within days I had an appointment with Dr. Anita Hildebrandt.  The evaluation consisted of lots of questions about my problems and my overall health, plus a number of physical movements.  Her feeling was that laser therapy could help and suggested an initial 12 x 1 hour appointments.  Remember now that at this point in time I went nowhere without my cane.  I was relieved to learn that there was no manipulation or poking or needles or anything like that.  My description of the treatment is that they placed different types of laser probes over the same areas.  There is really no sensation while all of this is going on and I did not experience any immediate changes say like when you have massage, but after 6 appointments I was able to leave the cane behind and although I wasn‘t completely without pain, I felt I was 100% better than I had been when I started.  Dr. Anita (as she is referred to ) and Darko carried out my treatments.

I am continuing with 1 more treatment a week as needed but expect I will eventually be able to discontinue totally.  I am so happy that I learned about this treatment and that my outcome has been as good and expeditious as it was.  I cannot say enough good things about the way I have been treated and the efficient manner in which the whole office is run.”
